27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for………….

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

Change of Heart… August 22, 2008

Finally, I was able to find the song that matches what I feel and what I want to say.

Change of Heart Song (click this link to listen)
I feel that I’m at a crossroads
I don’t know which way to go
You say that I am changing
Into someone that you don’t know
Who I am and who I’ll be
Is locked inside, inside of me
And if I follow my heart
Will you still be my friend
If we break apart?
How do I make, how will you take
My change of heart?

For years you have been my bestfriend
I thought that would always be
You know that I just can’t pretend
It’s written all over me
‘Cuz where I’ll go
And what I’ll do, I just can’t see
My life without you
If I follow my heart
Will you still be my friend
If we break apart?
How do I make, how will you take
My change of heart?

Moving on is gonna take some time
When I’m gone, you might have
A change of mind
Gotta take the chance,
No matter what I find.
No matter how far I travel
I think of you as home
Its not about finding someone else,
Its all about being alone
Because who I am and who I’ll be
Is locked inside, inside of me
‘Cuz if I follow my heart
Will you still be my friend,
If we break apart?

How will I make, how will you take
My change of heart?

God knew that I needed you (click this link to listen)

I looked at you and I see the one God chose for me
What did I do to deserved all I have received
We’re like a hand in blind, one heart made from two
God knew that I needed you

You know my heart in a way I know by no one else
And who you are gives me strength beyond my self
In spite of all you see, I know your love is true
God knew that I needed you

When we face that darkest of the night
I reach out for your hand and I know your love will hold me tight
Till we see the sun again
For God has given me a taste of heaven here on earth
Till life is through I belong with you

My heart will fail And my weaknesses will be uncover
But love will prevail when we choose to turn to each other
And in the deepest valley
The Lord will see us through
God knew that I needed
He knew just what I needed
God knew that I needed you

Leche Flan (Caramel Custard) August 12, 2008

Ingredients
Caramel:
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup water

Custard:
10 egg yolks
1 can evaporated milk (I prefer to use carnation brand)
1 can condensed sweetened milk (I prefer to use carnation brand)
1 teaspoon vanilla flavour

Cooking Instructions
Caramel:
Carmelize sugar in a sauce pan by boiling it with the water and stirring continuously over medium heat until sugar is melted. Pour sugar syrup into flan mold (similar to a tart pan), round cake pans (using square brownie pan now hehehe), or custard cups, tilting the mold/pan/cups to make sure the whole surface is covered. Cool at room temperature only, do not refrigerate or freeze.

Custard:
In a large bowl, combine all custard ingredients. Best to stir up the yolks first with a whisk, then stir everything lightly when mixing to prevent bubbles or foam from forming. Strain slowly while pouring batter into caramel-lined mold/pan/cups. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cover the filled item(s) with tin foil. Put item(s) in a bigger tray filled with water. Bake in oven for one hour or until mixture is firm. Or you can use a steamer if you don’t have an oven. Steam it for an hour. Cool before unmolding upside-down on a platter. The caramel should be a clear syrupy glaze. Refrigerate if desired. Cut into wedges to serve.

An afternoon at the Bird Park July 6, 2008

I was browsing the net when I felt so bored with what I am doing. It’s saturday and I really feel so bored facing the 4 corners of the room most of the time during the week. I thought of going somewhere but don’t really know where when Mike asked me to check the Birdpark site and not later than 2 hours we find ourselves standing at the entrance there. (There’s so much fun when you don’t plan things. hehe!) Alexx was already very excited to roam around but too bad it rained heavily when we got there. Since we haven’t eaten anything yet, we hang out eating our lunch first while waiting for the rain to stop. It was actually sunny but a bit cloudy when we left from home.

It was still drizzling when we finished our lunch and we waited awhile after we purchased our tickets at the entrance. Rain has finally stopped when we went out from the “night of darkness” room where we saw the owls with their big round eyes. I stolenly (cameras not allowed inside that room) took a snapshot of one of the owls there. I am not so sure what’s the name, I guess it was snow owls or winter owls?

Hmmm…The park doesn’t have birds where you can see at your own pace only. They’ve got “Bird Shows” scheduled during the day. Luckily we were able to see 2 of the shows. The first show we watched were the parrots which we weren’t able to see ”PICASSO” draw due to a heavy rain again. The 2nd was the “King of Preys” were I went panicky on how to configure the continuous shutter of the cam to take pictures of the flying birds. (nyahaha, can’t find the birds in the photos I tooked. They were really moving so fast! More pictures in http://www.mikemaealexx.multiply.com)

We really had a worthwhile afternoon with the birds. Although it’s pretty tiring at the end of the day but it feels good and really gratifying seeing the beauty of nature once in a while. They too needs appreciation more than we know.
