An afternoon at the Bird Park July 6, 2008

I was browsing the net when I felt so bored with what I am doing. It’s saturday and I really feel so bored facing the 4 corners of the room most of the time during the week. I thought of going somewhere but don’t really know where when Mike asked me to check the Birdpark site and not later than 2 hours we find ourselves standing at the entrance there. (There’s so much fun when you don’t plan things. hehe!) Alexx was already very excited to roam around but too bad it rained heavily when we got there. Since we haven’t eaten anything yet, we hang out eating our lunch first while waiting for the rain to stop. It was actually sunny but a bit cloudy when we left from home.

It was still drizzling when we finished our lunch and we waited awhile after we purchased our tickets at the entrance. Rain has finally stopped when we went out from the “night of darkness” room where we saw the owls with their big round eyes. I stolenly (cameras not allowed inside that room) took a snapshot of one of the owls there. I am not so sure what’s the name, I guess it was snow owls or winter owls?

Hmmm…The park doesn’t have birds where you can see at your own pace only. They’ve got “Bird Shows” scheduled during the day. Luckily we were able to see 2 of the shows. The first show we watched were the parrots which we weren’t able to see ”PICASSO” draw due to a heavy rain again. The 2nd was the “King of Preys” were I went panicky on how to configure the continuous shutter of the cam to take pictures of the flying birds. (nyahaha, can’t find the birds in the photos I tooked. They were really moving so fast! More pictures in http://www.mikemaealexx.multiply.com)

We really had a worthwhile afternoon with the birds. Although it’s pretty tiring at the end of the day but it feels good and really gratifying seeing the beauty of nature once in a while. They too needs appreciation more than we know.
